our arrival

The bus ride takes about an hour to get from Cancun to Playa Del Carmen. Since Kevin speaks great spanish he talked the bus driver to take us directly to our hotel, not just the pier (like all the other couples). Its so funny how no one knows where Mahekal beach resort is. We had this problem on our honeymoon. They have to ask all the other taxi drivers, and even the other drivers have no idea where it is. This is why we love this resort so much. You get such a secluded feel from it even though there are big resorts on either side of it. When we finally found it, all of our memories from our honeymoon came back. It hadn't changed one bit!
We had remembered that sunday night was Mexican night, our favorite night of dinner, so we asked if there was still a chance we could have dinner. We had gotten there just in time! We left our baggage there and ran to dinner (we knew exactly where to go). And boy was it good, just as we had remembered it.
We ended up getting a bungalow in the same area as our honeymoon, which is the best area (and for some reason the cheapest). I love the rooms, the simplicity of them and the complete mexican feel of them.
