my spear-fishin' man.

Kevins' most recent hobby has been spear fishing.
He was in heaven this whole trip with all the clear water and fish.  Quick into the trip he had to pick and choose his fish because the water was clear and the fish a plenty.

Hadley loved that Kevin caught fish.  She was not scared of the fish at all.  She would carry them around, poke at their eyes, and would try to pick them up (but they constantly slipped through her hands, but did this bother her?.. No).  She even watched Kevin filet the fish.  It didn't bother her one bit.  She is a weird one that girl.
Throughout the trip she kept telling Kevin to "catch the fishies Kenin!"

He ended up catching ten or so bass.  He filet them all and we made fish tacos one night.  OH MY GOODNESS were they good.  It can't get much better than fresh fish tacos on the lake.

"Look at the fishies!!"

We shared a beach with some dogs, one was named Stella.  After getting the fish from Kevin she ran over yelling "Stella!! Stella!! Look at the fishies!!"

Hadley learning how to filet.  No one else wanted to learn.

ummmm YUM.

powell

We got to go on a quick trip to Powell with the Browers last weekend.
Us girls read and relaxed.
The boys spear fished and free dived (8 bass total!).
That pretty much sums up the entire trip.
Ellie loved to search for lizards.  And squirrels.  She has an obsession with squirrels.

Ellie loved to throw rocks in the water.

And now onto the many faces of Patrick Brower:

Kevin skiing good.

kevin caught a fish

I came home the other night to a dead, gutted, rainbow trout in my sink. Yum. I swear I always come home to the weirdest things.

Kevin and his brother had gone down to our local pond to see how thick the ice was for a hockey game. They came upon an ice-fishing hole that had froze over with a stick and line frozen in it. With a hatchet already in hand they chipped out the hole and Kevin pulled on the fishing line. There was a fish on it! They pulled it out and Daniel gladly let Kevin take the fish home. Kevin looked up how to gut a fish on YouTube and wallah! you got fresh rainbow trout in the sink.

I made a quick herb mayonnaise to spread and flavor the fish, broiled it for a few minutes and bam! yummy fish. For being so small there was a good size of meat on that bad boy. Thanks Kevin for catching our dinner :)
