pickle ball

So on our morning run through Entrada, we came upon some courts alongside the tennis courts that looked like badminton courts. We got all excited because we love badminton. But then we saw people playing on them, and it wasn't badminton... It was something even better. An older lady saw us watching, so she came over to us and explained what they were playing: pickle ball. She then invited us to come play the following night with them.
When you get invited by old, retired couples to come and play a game with them, the answer should always be: YES.

So the following morning we went and scourged the city for pickle ball rackets. We found some at The Locker Room for a good price (every other place was double the price!). We asked if there were any other pickle ball courts in St. George other than the Entrada courts and he lead us to the courts off the boulevard. He said there is always people there playing. Perfect.

So we go and lo and behold...Old people playing pickle ball! We had never been so excited to see old people.

So we hopped right in, learned the rules and played for a good 3 hours. It was downright fun. We would play some old people that you would think...Ahh! Don't break your hip! Ahh Don't move so quickly! But they would always surprise you with their hits and ability to beat you.

And my personal favorite...the awkward hit.

Kevin is hiding there in the back.

Retirement never looked so good.

Tennis might just be replaced by pickle ball now...

  1. Haha! That looks so fun. Is it similar to badminton? Because we love badminton over here. That "awkward hit" picture is hilarious.
