My husband says that I always giggle in my sleep.
Just a few nights ago I did it again. I had a little giggle, so kevin asked what I was laughing at, knowing it was my sleep giggle. I replied in a very clear, not sleepy, and excited voice and said "I got most of it!"
Well Kevin slept talk a bit the other night too; well I would call it slept mumbled. He woke me up in he middle of the night mumbling, so I woke myself up so I could try and talk to him. I asked him what he was saying, and he just kept pointing to our wall and saying "mwahdihalkddkfhwaaa." He did this for me three times before I got bored of talking to him so I fell back asleep.
So I keep thinking, what does this mean? Maybe that my brain works better than his when it sleeps? My brain is more developed than his is? Who knows...

Ski Racing
Last Saturday I got to go up to Park City to watch my husband race at Masters Regional Championship. So I borrowed my moms nice camera so I could take some cool pics. It takes a lot for me to take pictures of anything, but I took the time to bring this camera. But of course, of course, after his first race, the camera died. (This happened on our honeymoon. I brought my camera and told myself I would take plenty of pictures; it died the first day). I wanted to get a cute picture of us together; but I at least got a cute picture of Kevin with his dad.
Kevin did really well! I didn't really get to see his first run since I was busy taking pictures (this is why I hate taking pictures, you miss the fun) but I watched his second run and I was amazed at how good he is. He makes me so proud! ha.

computer is back
Yeay my computer is alive! Around finals last semester my hard drive crashed on me. So we bought a new hard drive ($75), and then ordered new start-up disks ($35) (I for some reason didnt think these were important after I had already used them so I threw them away.. dumb dumb dumb) and it is back and running now! So it only ended up being $110, when I thought I would either be computer-less or $1000 poorer. My music is gone, my pictures are gone, all my college career (papers and such) is gone; but I could care less right now, I still have my macbook!

sleepwalker, sleeptalker
I have always been known in my family as a sleepwalker and sleeptalker. I dont know if those are one word or two words, but I like them as one so Ill leave them as one. In my old house in Sandy I grew up in, it was a common occurrence for me to sleepwalk. My favorite time I slightly remember:
I was having a dream that I was playing an intense game of soccer and had gotten badly scraped up. So I went to go find some band-aids. I remember finding them in my dream and pouring them out to grab some but then they disappeared. I searched for them for, it felt like, forever but gave up frustrated. I don't remember how the dream ended, but when I got up in the morning to go to the bathroom, there were band-aids EVERYWHERE! I was so confused and I think I got mad at my baby brother for making such a mess in my bathroom. It took me a day to remember my dream and remember that I had made that mess. Im sure I didn't apologize to my brother after this realization...
There are other good stories: me going into my parents closet in the middle of the night in search of my blanket, and snuggling up to a pair of my dads church shoes in their bed.
Another was me going into our front family room, sitting in a chair and just looking at the huge window into the night. My sisters friends were over late that night and her friend Carson walked in and got freaked out because he didn't know who I was since it was dark. Once he realized it was me, he was nice enough to carry me up to my bed.
I haven't had a recent sleepwalking story since we have been married. But I guess I sleeptalk a lot. I have been known many times to turn over to kevin when he is still up reading or trying to go to bed and just smile at him and say "I like you," and go right back to bed. Im pretty sure at the beginning of all this kevin got freaked out. I would have. But he has gotten brave lately and has started to talk back to me and see what I have to say. Usually I just say nonsense back, and when he persists, I get grumpy and mad and go back to bed. Last night I guess I said " She puts so much butter on it." I cant really relate that to my dream last night but I must like cooking even in my sleep.

were famous

...that is if you read Utah Bride and Groom Magazine. One of our wedding pictures was published in the last issue!! Thanks to our awesome photographer Jason McGrew. Now, the picture that was published was definitely not one of my favorites, we had so many better ones! But Im just excited Im in a magazine. Kevin might be used to this but this is a once in a lifetime thing for me. I dont have any pictures from our wedding on this computer (I have been having to use kevins because my hard drive died... and is still really dead) so ill download them later and share the picture with you - that is if I decide I like it enough...
Wedding Day Toast
My parents made this yummy french toast for me the morning of my wedding day, hence the name. It is soo good. The coconut syrup is really what makes it; so if your not a fan of french toast, try it on pancakes or waffles. Since me and kevin don't particularly like breakfast foods or actually I just don't like making breakfast, we ate this for dinner.
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/8 t. salt
1 t. vanilla
3 T. flour
6 or so slices of thick french bread
Coconut Syrup
7 T. butter
3-4 cups buttermilk
1 cup sugar
1/2 t. baking soda
1 t. coconut extract
Place the butter, buttermilk, and sugar in sauce pot on medium until the sugar dissolves. Boil 1 minute. Remove from heat and add soda and coconut extract. Stir until fizz is gone.
Beat eggs, then add remaining ingredients. Dip both sides of bread in batter.
Don't mind that the syrup is pretty much pure butter and sugar. Thats what makes it so good. Don't skimp! You might have to throw the remaining syrup away so you aren't constantly dipping your fingers in it after eating (like me).

Some Honeymoon Pictures
I had forgotten about these pictures from our honeymoon since they were on my camera, and since it died a day into the trip, I had assumed there were no good pictures on it. But I like these pictures because they show the awesome place we stayed at. We went to Playa del Carmen, Mexico and stayed at the Shrangri-La Caribe (It is actually now named Mahekal Beach Resort). Everything about it was great. Breakfast and dinner were included, and all the food was amazing. Every night was a different theme, they had Mexican (one of the best), Italian (was the only not-so-good night, we both aren't fans of italian food), and then the other nights we got to choose from a menu. One night they had duck and I will never forget how good that duck was... I would go back just for that one meal. For breakfast they had all sorts of stuff. Kevin had refried beans, scrambled eggs, and the freshest mango we both had ever tasted, every morning. I think he would go back just for the breakfasts. They had cantaloupe and watermelon juice that was oh so tasty.

Since this trip was going to be cheap, we had to find a cheap way to get to and from our hotel and go to Tulum and the little beach town Akumal. We took a one way bus to Tulum that was around $12 each. It was a pretty long bus ride. Taxis would have been faster, but way more expensive. When we went back to the bus station, Kev talked to the lady and asked her the cheapest way to go to Akumal. Once he spoke spanish to her, she was instantly nicer and told him about a bus that stops and picks up people on the freeway. Im forgetting the name of it... So we waited by the side of the road and sure enough this little bus comes and picks us up. Kevin asked the driver if he could take us to Akumal and we were on our way. It was then that we found out this was the bus for all the locals. We were the only white people. He dropped us off the side of the freeway by Akumal and I think it only cost us 35 cents each. We just had to walk down this street to get to the beach since the freeway is right along the ocean. We had brought our snorkel gear in backpacks, and snorkeled the rest of the day away. It was pretty cloudy here but we did get to see and swim around with some sea turtles.
Around 5 or 6 we walked back out to the freeway and waited for the bus. Well now it was rush hour, so we squished into a bus or two later and had the nice company of all the commuting mexican workers going home. Again, we were the only white people, and we couldn't even sit next to each-other the whole way home, which was about a 1-2 hour adventure. But heck, it was under $1 each to get back home. It was worth it.
All this reminiscing makes me want to go back so bad.
We will be back someday Shangri-La!
